Where to find info?Views: 961

Hi! Ok, so I’ve been researching my dads chemo drugs on the internet and the best info I found was on a site in the UK. I was just curious if you guys have found any good resources and where you look for info. Maybe it will help me find some good info to pass on to my pops. He’s on oxypaltin (sp?) and 5-fu. He got some info from his doc, but not a lot. And he’s not internet savvy, so he has no idea where to start looking for info about side effects, what to expect, etc. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also, I found a cool poll tool that I want to test out. If you don’t want to take it, no biggie. Just thought my cool new blog would be a great place for it. :) Wishing you well!

My colon cancer went to my live as well after a 2 1/2 period of no cancer. I take Xeloda (oral—have been on it over 5 months now) and I did have a lot of side effects like your dad until I added XanGo Juice and Avemar, fermented wheat germ. I have no clue why BUT my side effects are gone and I have energy like before! I told my Oncologist and Radiologist about these and they both agreed to keep taking them, and also they were both going to investigate more into both of them. So I have a lot of antioxidants and wheat germ working inside me along side the chemo. AND, by the way, my blood counts all improved since being on chemo since I started these…my Dr’s were very impressed with this! I don’t know why, but it could be worth a try for your Dad as well as all of us on chemo, radiation etc. If you want to know where to get these products just let me know. Sue

It’s great that you’re helping your dad with this by finding out everything you can about the drugs and their side effects for him. I love family being there to help shoulder the burden, my husband and daughter have been here with me too, making a point of taking care of me. Keep your chin up and your faith strong, I’ll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers as you battle this monster. God bless your dad and you.

There is a lot of information here:

Kelly – my elderly mom was just diagnosed and we are looking for an oncologist in So Ca. Do you have any recos? Thank you.

I have learned a lot from your blog.

Hi Family! My dad uses Kaiser, so he has an oncologist through them. To be honest, we don’t like his onc, so I wouldn’t recommend him to you anyway. He’s screwed up a lot in the past. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more help.

Kelly :)
